We have a bit of crush on Vinomofo – a fantastic website run by people who are seriously excited about wine and making the experience of buying it easy and fun. Only selling wines they love and drink themselves, their advice is simple, honest and without all the salesy hype. But best of all, they have a line up of vegan wines (and while it’s not huge, like all things vegan, it’s set to grow).
Vinomofo’s Wine Guru, Eddie says “The major reason that a wine wouldn’t be vegan is that an animal product is used within the fining phase. This is done to make final stage adjustments to the wine mostly centering around its aesthetics. Consumers have become much more forgiving about cloudy and murky wines thanks largely to the natural wine movement.”
So if you’re not sure where to buy vegan wine, we suggest you start at Vinomofo (take the time to read how they chose their name, it’s a great story). Here’s one that caught our eye, Wines of Momentary Destination Lagrein Shiraz 2017: $15.
