Star of The Good Wife, vegan actor Alan Cumming, hosted a presentation by powerhouse vegan menswear label Brave Gentleman at an intimate soirée and runway show at The Mercer Hotel during New York Fashion Week earlier this month.

Wearing a vegan suit crafted by the design house out of bamboo fibres, Cumming welcomed guests and heaped accolades on both the collection and its creator, Joshua Katcher – designer, educator, author and activist.

The Fall 2019 collection features made-to-measure, luxury bamboo suits with pleated, wider style leg pants, a dressed-up bomber-style jacket and various motorcycle-jacket inspired blazers that are just way too cool for school.

Founded in 2010, The Brooklyn based label launched globally as the first vegan lifestyle menswear brand. Founder Katcher is highly regarded as a fashion expert. His first book, Fashion Animals, due for release in March 2019, explores animal exploitation within the fashion industry. Katcher’s dedication to a slow-production fashion model, and sustainable, ethical innovation, has seen Brave Gentleman build a loyal fan base worldwide, including Cumming and our other favourite British actor, Benedict Cumberbatch, who wore a Brave Gentleman suit when he graced a recent cover of UK GQ magazine.

In 2018, after discovering the brand while searching for vegan clothing, Cummings’ (a vocal vegan and animal and human rights activist and recipient of PETA’s 2017 Humanitarian Award), offered to model its Fall look book. Media accolades swiftly followed and the rest they say, is history.
