Last weekend, Keeping Up With The Kardashians reality TV star, Kim Kardashian West announced that her diet at home is vegan.

The news was shared on Instagram to her 136 million followers when she posted pictures of a fruit smoothie bowl and sweet potato and avocado dish with the caption “I am eating all plant-based when I am home.”

This latest step towards a more cruelty-free lifestyle comes after she announced last year that she had a “new thing” for faux fur. Reportedly, after being sent a coral faux mink coat from animal rights activist, Pamela Anderson, along with a request to consider giving real fur a miss, Kardashian posted a pic of herself to SnapChat in a faux fur coat, stating that “I have blue nails, this coat is faux fur. That’s my new thing, faux fur.” She later shared images on Instagram of a Givenchy faux fur coat that was gifted to her.

While this doesn’t mean Kardashian is embracing veganism, it’s a huge step in the right direction and she joins a growing number of celebrities, including Miley Cyrus, Beyonce and Ariana Grande, who are embracing plant-based living.
