So we’ve all heard heaps about Beyond Meat… and we’ve all heard a fair bit about Impossible Meat. And now there’s a true blue Aussie company that’s making a big difference in the vegan space, too. The Alternative Meat Co. products are 100 per cent Australian made and 100 per cent plant based, and not only are they ethically and environmentally friendly, they taste absolutely delicious, too.

The hero of the range is the eponymous Alternative Burger.

 

Superhero trainer Luke Zocchi (yep, he trains Thor, AKA Chris Hemsworth) teamed up with The Alternative Meat Co. to launch the Alternative Burger in Huxtaburger stores nationally on International Burger Day in May.

Says Luke: “I was stoked to try a locally-made, plant-based burger patty that actually tastes deliciously meaty. Working with The Alternative Meat Co. and Huxtaburger teams, I’ve created an Alternative Burger packed with feel-good ingredients that work if you’re flexi, vegan, vego or a meat-lover.”

But that’s just the beginning. The Alternative Meat Co. has released three new plant-based, non-meat products – the Burger, The Alternative Mince and The Alternative Sausage – and they’re all available nationwide in Coles.

As well as being locally made and 100 per cent plant-based, all products are high in protein and free from preservatives, artificial colours, flavours, GMOs and palm oil. The brand also uses recyclable packaging in all of its products.

So if you’re vegan, vegan curious or even a meat lover looking to do your bit for a more sustainable planet, it’s now easier than ever to walk the talk.

The limited-edition Alternative Burger will be available at Huxtaburger until the end of June. The Alternative Meat range is available in Coles now.
