Eating out as a vegan, especially with a group of omnivores, is historically a less than fulfilling experience. But that’s all been changing in recent years. In forward-thinking cafés and hatted restaurants, vegan food has been making waves. And now it’s coming to a fast food chain near you.
Schnitz is the latest to join the growing number of franchise groups – such as Grill’d, Burger King, Guzman y Gomez and Domino’s – that are getting in on the vegan action.
Having trialled a plant based, gluten free menu in a selection of stores, the new and improved menu is now available across the Schnitz network.
Schnitz say they saw a growing need for vegan and gluten free products, and wanted to do something about it.
The vegan schnitzels are made using premium quality farm fresh vegetables. Two different vegan cheese options are on offer: vegan shredded mozzarella and a cheddar-style cheese. There’s also a vegan mayo.
Here are those vegan additions in full:
+ Plated vegan schnitzel w/ chips and salad
+ Vegan wrap and roll options, including:
+ Basic Instinct
+ Garden of Eden
+ Plain & Simple
+ Vegan parma (complete with vegan cheese)
+ Vegan cheese options X 2 (shredded mozzarella and cheddar-style cheese)
+ Vegan mayo option
+ Salads/chips (normal and sweet potato)
